September Price Drops Hit Corn, Soybean, and Livestock Markets
The agricultural market saw significant drops in prices on Thursday, September 17, according to various reports. Corn futures for December and March declined by 3 cents and 4 cents respectively, trading at $5.31 and $5.44 per bushel. Soybean futures also fell, with November and January down by a half cent each, priced at $13.19 and $13.36 per bushel. Wheat futures saw more substantial decreases, with December and March falling by 5 cents and 4 cents to $7.25 and $7.42 per bushel.
Live cattle futures experienced a decline of $282 in October and $400 in December, priced at $215.62 and $216.20 per hundredweight. Feeder cattle futures also dropped, with October down by $545 and November down by $450, trading at $324.20 and $318.60 per hundredweight.
The 2026 crop corn prices from Wanstead Farmers Co-operative were down 3 cents and 4 cents to $6.76 and $6.49 per bushel for December and March respectively. The same co-operative reported a half-cent decrease in the price of 2026 crop soybeans, trading at $17.35 per bushel.
