Shale E&P Stocks Surge as US Oil Industry Reports Strong Q2
The US shale oil industry has reported an exceptional Q2 earnings season, with revenues beating analysts' consensus estimates by 10.4%. The 11 tracked stocks showed resilience in their share prices, up 8.1% on average since the latest results.
Riley Exploration Permian (NYSE:REPX) was one of the standouts, reporting a 94.2% year-on-year revenue increase to $165.9 million, exceeding analysts' expectations by 11.8%. CEO Bobby Riley commented that the company continued executing its growth strategy and was increasing full-year oil production guidance, implying approximately 30% year-over-year growth in 2026.
However, not all stocks performed well. Texas Pacific Land (TPL) reported revenues of $246.1 million, up 31.2% year-on-year, but fell short of analysts' expectations by 1.4%. Its stock is down 11.1% since the results.
