Silver prices on Thursday declined by Rs 1,249 to Rs 2,34,646 per kilogram in futures trade as participants reduced their bets.

The fall was for December delivery contracts on the Multi Commodity Exchange, with a business turnover of 2,161 lots.

Analysts attributed the price drop to a sell-off by participants mainly weighing on silver prices.

Globally, the white metal was trading 0.55% down at USD 64.07 per ounce in New York.
