Soybean Prices Poised for Quarter-Billion UAH Surge
Soybean prices may surge by almost a quarter as demand remains stable and logistics flexible. Analysts from agricultural cooperative PUSK predict that prices could reach 20-22 thousand UAH/ton, up from the current level of 17-18 thousand UAH/ton.
According to experts, soybeans have been one of the few crops providing stable profitability to producers in the past three seasons. This is due to their ability to be sold both domestically and for export, as well as access to road and rail logistics and demand in Danube ports.
The current season starts with purchase prices of 17-18 thousand UAH/ton, but analysts warn that corn may face price pressure at the beginning of the new marketing year. They predict a similar scenario to last season, when selling soybeans early in the season resulted in significantly better prices.
With mass harvesting expected soon, corn supply may exceed demand, leading to price declines. In contrast, soybean prices are likely to increase during the second half of the season, making it a good idea for producers not to rush with forward sales.
