The US stock market was weighed down by rising crude oil futures and interest rates this week.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average, composed of blue-chip stocks, closed at $52,573.29, down $840.96 from the previous Friday.

The Nasdaq Composite Index, dominated by technology stocks, also fell, closing at 26,333.04, down 173.95 points.

Next week's focus will be on trends in the crude oil market and the US Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting, amid growing concerns over supply chains for Middle Eastern crude oil following attacks on pipelines in Saudi Arabia.
