The global stock market saw an uptick in prices on Friday, despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East that threatened to disrupt oil supplies. The S&P 500 rose by a mere 0.1% in early trading, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 62 points.

Meanwhile, Brent crude oil prices plummeted by 2.6%, marking the first decline in over a week. This drop in oil prices came as heavy fighting continued in the Middle East, which could potentially reduce global oil supply.

The Nasdaq composite, however, fell short of expectations, slipping 0.1% early Friday. Despite this, all three major indexes are still on track to end the week in the red.
