Stocks Soar as Oil Prices Dip Amid Easing Inflation Fears
Stocks surged on Thursday as oil prices eased and inflation data provided some relief. The price of West Texas Intermediate crude fell by $1.44, or 2%, to $69.92 a barrel.
The US Labor Department reported that the Consumer Price Index rose 6% in February from a year earlier, down from January's 6.4%. This data brought some stability to markets, which had been rattled by high inflation rates.
Investors are hopeful that these easing oil prices and slower inflation rate will boost economic growth and consumer spending.
