Summer Sizzle Fades as Natural Gas Futures Prices Plummet
Natural Gas Futures Sputter Amid Plump Supply Readings
The price of natural gas futures fell on Tuesday, marking a reversal from the previous week's rally. The decline was attributed to an abundance of supply and profit-taking after a brief surge in prices at the start of summer 2026.
A key factor contributing to the decrease in prices is the substantial production levels, which are nearing 112 Bcf/d. Additionally, weather forecasts suggest healthy demand for natural gas, while LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) demand remains strong.
According to NGI's analysis, a storage build of approximately 36 Bcf is expected, further adding to the supply in the market.
