SunBridge BioEnergy kicks off commercial ethanol production in Seoni
SunBridge BioEnergy, a division of the SunBridge Group, has started commercial production at its new grain-based ethanol plant in Seoni, Madhya Pradesh. The facility, with a daily production capacity of 300 kiloliters (KLD), spans over 117,560 square meters and includes storage for 11,000 kiloliters of ethanol. The company plans to expand its overall ethanol capacity to 700 KLD once its 400 KLD plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, becomes operational.
The Seoni plant is designed for resource efficiency, producing ethanol alongside co-products like Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS) and Distillers Corn Oil (DCO), which are used in animal feed. The facility operates under a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) framework, minimizing water consumption and promoting sustainable resource use.
Anuj Agarwal, Founder & Chairman of SunBridge Group, emphasized the significance of this milestone, stating that the Seoni facility is a crucial step in building a scalable bioenergy platform. The company aims to support farming communities by utilizing damaged food grains, such as maize and broken rice, for ethanol production, thereby creating value for rural economies.
SunBridge BioEnergy’s broader strategy includes developing businesses in consumer products, bioenergy, and solar energy, aligning with India’s shift toward sustainable energy solutions and reduced fossil fuel dependence.
