SynMax Hyperion Now Offers Full U.S. Natural Gas Market Balance

SynMax has enhanced its natural gas intelligence platform, Hyperion, to provide a comprehensive view of the U.S. natural gas market. The platform now integrates supply, demand, trade, and LNG data into a single source, offering traders and analysts a complete balance of the market. This includes daily historical data and forecasts extending roughly two years ahead.

The new demand models cover key consumption sectors such as residential, commercial, industrial, and electric power, as well as smaller sectors. Each sector is modeled based on its specific drivers, such as heating for residential and commercial demand, and weather and economic activity for industrial demand. The platform also allows users to simulate how different weather conditions from past years would impact demand and storage.

SynMax's accuracy in forecasting storage reports has been notable. Over its first nine weeks of calls, from the week ending July 31 through the week ending September 25, 2026, the company's predictions were within 1 Bcf of the EIA's reported figures in six weeks, with an average miss of 1.7 Bcf. This performance placed SynMax first in The Desk's industry ranking of storage forecasters for the third quarter.
