Syrian Gold Prices Slip Amid Global Rate Hike Bets
The price of gold in Syria dropped on Monday due to global market pressures. According to the General Authority for Precious Metals Management, 21-karat gold fell by 50 Syrian pounds per gram compared to Sunday's prices.
The selling price of 21-karat gold was set at 16,100 Syrian pounds ($131.97) per gram, while the buying price was 15,800 pounds ($129.51). A gram of 18-karat gold was priced at 13,800 pounds ($113.11) for selling and 13,500 pounds ($110.66) for buying.
In international markets, spot gold fell 0.7% to $4,398.13 an ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery dropped 0.7% to $4,443.60, according to Reuters.
