Taiwan Unveils $13 Billion LNG Funding Package Amid Price Freeze Expiration
Taiwan's cabinet has finalized a supplementary budget that includes over $13 billion in funding for state-run energy companies to secure liquefied natural gas and shield electricity users from rising prices. The NT$234 billion ($7.4 billion) capital injection will be allocated mainly to CPC Corp., the company responsible for importing LNG for power generation.
The supplementary budget also includes a further NT$100 billion-plus in subsidies for CPC Corp. This funding package aims to help the country's energy companies cope with the impact of rising global prices and the expiration of a price freeze at the end of the month.
