Tanker Struck in Strait of Hormuz Amid US-Iran Tensions
A tanker was struck by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for Gulf oil and gas, according to a UK maritime agency.
The British maritime security agency UKMTO reported that the tanker suffered damage to its engine room but the crew were safe and there was no environmental impact.
Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, said there is no military solution to the US war against Iran, only negotiations based on justice and fairness can end the conflict.
The US has imposed economic pressure on Iran in recent weeks, but the main point of contention remains Iran's attempt to blockade the Strait of Hormuz.
