Markets witnessed a volatile shift in focus on Monday, with technology stocks surging and oil prices plummeting. ARM Holdings (ARM) led the charge, rising by 17.16%, while Astera Labs (ALAB) and Akamai Technologies (AKAM) added 12.36% and 12.33% respectively.

Oil stocks took a hit, with WTI crude falling sharply after US President stated that Iran wanted to negotiate a peace deal. Despite the attempted breakthrough, prices dropped anyway. Brent Crude prices fell by 3.4%, trading at around $100/bbl, while Nymex crude for October declined by 4.5% to around $96/bbl.

The drop in oil prices was particularly notable given the rise in diesel prices. According to AAA, diesel prices topped $6.51/gal on Monday, with California recording a staggering $8.40/gal and Washington and Hawaii facing prices in the low $7/gal range.
