Texas Gas Prices Reach Near-Record Highs Amid Ongoing Oil Market Uncertainty
Gas prices in Texas remain steady but high, with the average price per gallon still near record highs in August. According to AAA Texas, the current average price of gas is $3.63 per gallon, a one-cent drop from last week.
The highest jump in gas prices was seen in San Angelo, with an 18-cent increase this week. El Paso remains the city with the highest gas prices at $3.91 per gallon.
Experts point to continued uncertainty in the global oil market and crude oil prices as factors contributing to high gas prices. Brent crude oil is currently priced at $89.93 per barrel, while WTI crude is at $83.77 per barrel.
