Trump Calls Off Iran Attacks, Markets React
US stock futures and their peers rose on Sunday evening after US President Donald Trump called off planned attacks on Iran. The Dow futures gained around 200 points, while the Nasdaq futures and S&P 500 futures also saw significant increases.
The decision to call off the attacks was made following pleas from allies in West Asia, with Trump stating that it would have been the 'biggest attack since World War II' if carried out.
Brent crude prices fell as much as 7% in early Asia trading before recovering some losses. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC+) has agreed to increase output from September, which could potentially offset the 2023 output cuts.
