Trump Rejects Iran Terms, Sends Oil Prices Soaring

The price of Brent crude oil rose by 2.1% on Thursday after US President Donald Trump rejected Iran's terms, ending a three-session losing streak.

A report in The Wall Street Journal said that the Trump administration has repeatedly told mediators it is not interested in reviving the June memorandum of understanding with Iran.

This development complicates diplomatic efforts to restart talks and boost oil flows from the Middle East.

Brent crude futures finished up $1.86, or 2.1%, at $89.70 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures settled up $1.30, or 1.6%, at $83.53.
