Trump Rejects Iran's 7-Day Plan to End War, Eyes New Military Strikes

US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and enter a ceasefire. The proposal, which was presented through mediator Qatar, would see Iran resume negotiations over its nuclear program in exchange for concessions from the US.

In a statement on Saturday morning, Trump said he is rejecting Iran's deal because it would not be acceptable. He claimed that Iran wants to reopen the strait 'because they're dying' and have no money coming in due to the naval blockade of Iranian ports.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important energy routes, carrying roughly 20% of global oil supplies. Trump has previously stated that he will not allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon, posting 'IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!!!' on Truth Social on Saturday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday that the decision to reopen the Strait of Hormuz now rests with the US. He claimed that the necessary conditions for reopening the strait can be met within a week, and that some steps required under the proposal are already included in commitments made by Washington in June.
