U.S. President Donald Trump criticized ExxonMobil and Chevron for making 'too much money' from higher fuel prices, calling on them to lower gasoline prices.

In a press conference on Monday, three days after the companies reported blowout second-quarter earnings due to the ongoing war in Iran, Trump stated that he does not like oil giants making excessive profits.

'Chevron, too much money,' Trump said, adding that Exxon and Chevron should 'give some of that back to the public.' This is a notable departure from his usual alliance with the industry.
