Trump to Unveil Korea's Multi-Billion Dollar US Investment Plans

US President Donald Trump is expected to announce Korea's investment projects in the United States as early as Wednesday, according to Reuters. The plans could include approximately $54 billion for an Alaska LNG project, which would be funded by Korea's strategic investment fund.

The White House has scheduled Trump to make an announcement with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick at 3:30 p.m. Washington time. This comes as Seoul and Washington have been coordinating on projects under a trade agreement tied to Korea's $350 billion US investment commitment.

Last week, Seoul's industry ministry reported that the first project chosen was a large-scale gas-fired power plant in Texas, followed by eight large-scale nuclear reactors in the United States and an LNG project in Alaska.
