Trump Unveils South Korea's Multi-Billion Dollar Energy Investment Plans
US President Donald Trump announced on September 30 that South Korea plans to invest $200 billion in various projects, including construction of a gas-fired power plant in Texas and eight large-scale nuclear power plants across the United States.
The announcement was made alongside Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, and Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK), who emphasized that this is 'one of the largest energy infrastructure investments in American history.'
According to Trump, South Korea will invest up to $200 billion in total, with a significant portion going towards building an Alaska liquefied natural gas pipeline, which will transport nearly 4 billion cubic feet of LNG per day.
