A decades-old video resurfaced of Donald Trump advocating for taking Iran's oil in 1987, a stance he repeated on social media last month.

The clip shows Trump telling journalist Barbara Walters that 'you take their oil. That's what I'd do' and warning that the US would have a war if it didn't act.

The video is from an episode of ABC's 20/20 featuring a profile of Trump by Walters, which aired on December 11, 1987.

Trump reposted the clip on Truth Social in March and again advocated for taking Iran's oil, saying 'with a little more time, we can easily open the Hormuz Strait, take the oil, & make a fortune.'
