UBS Sees Gold Soaring to $5,400 by 2027 Amid Bullion Recovery
Gold has partially recovered from its sharp September decline, with prices edging up to around $4,195 an ounce. However, despite this rebound, UBS's year-end forecast of $4,600 remains a significant challenge for bullion investors.
The Swiss bank's December 2026 target of $4,600 represents a gain of almost 10% from current levels. Looking ahead to September 2027, UBS predicts gold will reach $5,400, implying a 28.7% increase from today's price.
UBS strategist Giovanni Staunovo emphasizes the long-term investment case for gold, citing central-bank purchases as structural support. However, the immediate test for bullion lies in whether softer rate expectations persist through upcoming US inflation and employment releases.
