Silver prices rose on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCE) amid fresh positions built by participants, reaching Rs 2.26 lakh per kg in futures trade on September 30.
The white metal for December delivery increased by Rs 1,250, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 2,26,700 per kilogram in a business turnover of 1,034 lots.
Analysts said the rise in silver prices was due to fresh positions built by participants.
