Uganda has deepened its alliance with Vitol Bahrain ahead of its first oil production. The company will market Uganda's share of crude oil, a move that strengthens an existing strategic partnership between Kampala and one of the world's largest commodity traders.

The appointment comes as Uganda prepares to start producing oil from the Lake Albert Basin, with estimates suggesting output could reach 30,000 barrels per day by 2026. Vitol Bahrain will be responsible for marketing this share of production.
