Uganda's Oilseed Processors Struggle with Raw Material Shortage

Uganda's oilseed processors are struggling to meet growing demand for cooking oil, animal feed, and groundnut paste due to a shortage of raw materials.

The industry officials say poor yields and post-harvest losses have hit Uganda's oilseed supply.

AgriNet, an agribusiness company in Tororo District, needs about 1,444 tonnes of oilseeds a year to operate at full capacity but has only managed to secure 240 tonnes over the past year.
