Ukraine Extends Preferential Gas Prices Until End of Heating Season

The Ukrainian government has extended preferential gas prices for households and heat producers until March 31, 2027, effectively until the end of the heating season. Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi announced this on social media, citing the difficult socioeconomic situation in the country as a reason for the decision.

The current moratorium on tariff increases, introduced by parliament during martial law, remains in effect. As a result, the Public Service Obligation (PSO) in the natural gas market has been extended until March 31, 2027, according to First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.

This means that households will continue to pay unchanged gas prices throughout the autumn-winter period. Heat supply companies can also maintain preferential tariffs, while gas distribution system operators and cogeneration in frontline areas will have extended terms for natural gas sales.
