Ukraine Grain Exports Fall 22% Amid Corn Surge
The grain export season in Ukraine has seen a decline of 22% this year compared to last, according to recent data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. As of September 21st, the country had exported 4.662 million metric tons of grains and legumes since the start of the 2026/27 marketing year, which is down from the 5.979 million metric tons recorded at the same time last year.
The Ministry's data shows that corn exports have increased by 103.4%, rising to 1.841 million metric tons as of September 21st. However, wheat and barley exports have seen significant declines, with a drop of 43.9% for wheat and 46.9% for barley compared to last year.
Wheat flour exports have also fallen, with a decrease of 48.9% from the same period last year. Overall, flour exports have declined by 46.8%, totaling 7.4 thousand metric tons as of September 21st.
