Ukraine's Corn Exports Surge, Outpacing Traditional Staples
Ukraine's corn exports have nearly doubled in the first few months of the new marketing year, reaching 1.8 million tonnes by September 21st.
This surge in corn shipments has significantly reshaped Ukraine's export picture, even as traditional staples like wheat and barley lose ground.
The country's Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported that overall grain and leguminous crop exports have reached 4.6 million tonnes since the beginning of the marketing year.
Corn exports are up nearly twice from last year, while wheat and barley exports have declined by 44% and 47%, respectively.
