Ukrainian Grain and Oilseeds Markets Face Logistical and Demand Pressures
The Ukrainian Universal Exchange has released its latest agricultural market update for the period from September 25 to October 1, 2026. The report highlights significant challenges in the grain and oilseeds sectors, including logistical bottlenecks and shifting demand patterns. Corn prices in Ukraine saw a slight decline, averaging 6,623.23 UAH/ton, down 1.03%, due to weak demand and export logistics constraints. In Chicago, December corn futures were priced at $197.7/ton, while Euronext November contracts were at $299.6/ton.
Wheat markets also faced liquidity issues, with domestic prices for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th class wheat varying slightly but generally showing a downward trend. Exports remained active despite logistical challenges, particularly in Danube ports and railway crossings. Chicago wheat futures strengthened to $250.9/ton, while Euronext December contracts closed at $268.7/ton.
Sunflower prices dropped by 1.14% to an average of 18,554.61 UAH/ton, influenced by regional supply dynamics. Soybeans, however, experienced a 2.28% price increase to 17,557.07 UAH/ton, supported by strong demand from processors and exporters. Globally, soybean contracts faced pressure due to investment fund adjustments and trade talks.
The report emphasizes the need for farmers to adapt to market conditions, particularly by securing export routes or cooperating with shipping parties to maintain profitability. Detailed market analytics are available through the AgroMarket UUB Telegram chatbot.
