Ukrainian Grain Losing Ground on Global Markets Amid Port Blockade
As Ukraine's Black Sea ports remain idle due to the ongoing conflict, the country is losing its grip on global grain markets. Long-time buyers of Ukrainian grain are restructuring their supply chains, leaving crop operations and shares of MHP, Astarta, and IMC in a slump.
The reorientation of supply chains comes as major buyers, including Egypt and Turkey, wait for the return of grain from the Black Sea region, not just from Ukraine but also from Russia. This shift has led to Australian, Romanian, and Bulgarian wheat taking the place of Ukrainian wheat on global markets.
