US Agricultural Markets See Mixed Price Action on October 2
The US agricultural markets saw mixed price action on October 2, 2026. The corn futures market extended its decline from Wednesday, with December corn falling to $4.97 3/4, near mid-range and down 30 1/2 cents for the week. Technical selling in corn futures is expected early next week, according to Pro Farmer After the Bell's Lindsey Pound.
The soybean and meal markets also saw losses, with November soybeans falling to $12.78 1/4, near mid-range and hitting a four-week low, while December bean oil rose to 68.62 cents, near its daily high. The strong U.S. dollar index, which hit a 1.5-year high on Thursday, has been bearish for the wheat markets lately.
However, the winter wheat futures market saw a pause in losses at the end of the week, with December SRW wheat rising to $6.83, near mid-range and down 20 1/4 cents for the week. The cattle and hog markets also saw some price movement, but no significant changes.
