US-Canada Trade Tensions Escalate: Impact on Corn Futures Market
The US-Canada trade tensions have escalated with new import bans and tariffs on Canadian dairy products, set to take effect on September 29. In response, Canada has announced retaliatory tariffs on $20 billion to $28 billion of American farm equipment, dairy, and related exports.
This development introduces new trade barriers and creates uncertainty for agricultural markets, leading to shifts in expectations and increased positioning in Corn Futures (ZC).
Currently, ZC is trading at US$533.75, posting a daily gain of 1.07%. The contract sits above its key moving averages, reflecting ongoing momentum.
The Ichimoku Kijun stands as immediate resistance at US$535.63, while key support is seen at US$526.38. Momentum readings remain weak, with mixed technical signals challenging the uptrend.
