US Commodities Markets Plunge Amid Global Economic Uncertainty

The Chicago Board of Trade reported closing prices for Thursday, September 24, 2026. Corn futures saw significant declines, with December's price dropping to $5.26 and March's price falling to $5.40 per bushel.

Soybean futures also decreased, with November's price down at $13.16 and January's price at $13.30 per bushel. Wheat futures declined as well, with December's price hitting $7.05 and March's price reaching $7.20 per bushel.

The live cattle market saw a substantial drop in prices, with October's price down to $218.95 and December's price falling to $221.05 per hundredweight. Feeder cattle futures also declined, with October's price at $331.85 and November's price at $328.17.

The 2026 crop corn price from Wanstead Farmers Co-operative fell to $6.67 per bushel, while the 2027 crop corn price dropped to $6.42 per bushel. The 2026 crop soybean price decreased by half a cent to $17.42 per bushel, and the 2027 crop soybean price declined to $16.49 per bushel.

The Ontario Pork Reports indicated that the U-S CME price remained steady at $82.47 per hundredweight, dressed weight, but the 100% formula price increased by $0.52 to $210.33 per hundred kilograms, dressed weight.
