US Employees in Saudi Arabia Need Special Approval Amid Iran War Tensions
The US Mission in Saudi Arabia has issued new travel guidelines for its employees due to ongoing security concerns. The mission requires special authorization for official and personal trips to Taif and Yanbu, two cities in western Saudi Arabia.
This decision comes after the US Department of State urged Americans to reconsider traveling to Saudi Arabia over the risk of Iranian drone and missile attacks targeting US interests.
The security situation has led to a rise in global oil prices, with Brent crude surpassing $100 a barrel. In Nigeria, petrol prices have also increased, reaching N1,600 per litre in Abuja and up to N1,750 per litre on the black market.
The US Mission advised Americans to remain vigilant and avoid glass doors and windows in case of an aerial attack. If such an event occurs, individuals are instructed to stay away from glass objects and monitor their phones for official guidance.
