US Gas Exports to Mexico Reach September Record on Power Demand

US natural gas exports to Mexico reached a September record as demand for power grew in the country. The South Central region drove this increase, with supplies coming from both West Texas and South Texas.

The average daily volume of gas flowing through the Saguaro Connector Pipeline from South Texas was around 5.15 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d), while West Texas supplied another 2.06 Bcf/d to Mexico.

Despite the increase in exports, South Central storage levels trailed year-ago levels, indicating that supplies were being drawn down to meet growing demand for power generation in Mexico.
