US-Iran Negotiations Send Gold and Silver Prices Soaring in Pakistan
The global market for precious metals is experiencing significant volatility due to stalled US-Iran negotiations. President Trump's demand for historical conflict compensation from Tehran has effectively frozen ongoing peace talks, crushing any immediate hope of reopening the Strait of Hormuz and spiking global oil prices.
This sudden deadlock has led anxious investors to aggressively buy gold and silver as safe-haven assets, driving up their prices. In Pakistan, local Sarafa markets have adjusted prices to absorb these macroeconomic shocks, with gold and silver rates increasing sharply.
According to current market rates, the price of gold in Pakistan is Rs. 4,53,046 per tola, while spot gold is trading at $4,359.79 per troy ounce internationally. The price of silver in Pakistan is Rs. 6,896.29 per kilogram, with spot silver trading at $66.334 per troy ounce globally.
