US Military Destroys Five Iranian Oil Tankers Amid Escalating Conflict
The U.S. military has destroyed five Iranian oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman and near Iran's Kharg Island, as part of its efforts to weaken Iran's economic lifeline.
Turmoil from this war has pushed Brent crude oil prices back above $100 a barrel today.
The U.S. Central Command announced the destruction of the tankers yesterday, which follows eight Iranian crude tankers struck by the U.S. since Saturday.
Iran retaliated by targeting U.S. troops stationed at an air base in Jordan.
