US Military Hits Iranian Oil Tankers in Escalating Conflict
The US military has escalated its conflict with Iran by targeting three Iranian oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman. The strikes were carried out on Saturday, a day after President Donald Trump described the ongoing conflict as 'small potatoes'.
A US aircraft carrier and destroyer evaded multiple unprovoked Iranian attacks while patrolling in the region, and no US personnel were hurt in the incident.
The military's statement said that two of the oil carriers were permanently disabled, while the third was destroyed. The tankers were part of a shadow network helping to fund Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard and its armed proxies in the region.
