US Natgas Prices Stabilize Amid Milder Weather Outlook

US natural gas futures held steady near a one-week low on forecasts for milder weather and lower demand over the next two weeks.

The front-month contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell by 0.5 cents, or 0.2%, to $2.962 per million British thermal units (mmBtu), its lowest close since September 21.

This marks a decline of about 7% this week after it jumped around 10% last week.

Looking ahead, futures for calendar 2027 dropped to an average of $3.21 per mmBtu, their lowest price since February 2022, while the 12-month futures strip fell to $3.06, its lowest since November 2024.
