The US military has struck three Iranian oil tankers in response to what it claims were missile attacks on its warships.

The incident occurred on Saturday, September 5, 2026, when an aircraft carrier and a destroyer evaded 'multiple unprovoked Iranian attacks.'

No US personnel were hurt during the incident, but two Iranian oil carriers were reportedly 'permanently disabled,' while a third, unladen tanker was destroyed.

The US military stated that the tankers were part of a shadow network helping to fund Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard.
