US Offers $6 Billion Boost for Argentina LNG Gas Project
The Export-Import Bank of the United States (US Exim) has proposed financing of up to $6 billion to support Argentina LNG, a massive gas project in Argentina.
The funds would cover the purchase of goods and services from US companies for the construction and production phases of the project. However, the proposal still needs approval from the governing board of the agency.
The project, promoted by YPF, Eni, and XRG, aims to establish an integrated chain for gas extraction and marketing in Argentina's Vaca Muerta region.
The program includes gas production facilities in Neuquén province, logistical works, treatment plants, and two floating liquefaction units (FLNG) operating off the coast of Río Negro. The FLNGs will have a combined capacity of 12 million tons per year of LNG, making Argentina a leading emerging exporter.
