US Seeks Deeper Ties with Bangladesh in LNG and LPG Sectors

The United States has expressed interest in strengthening its energy ties with Bangladesh, particularly in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sectors.

During a meeting between Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood and Eric Geelan, political and economic counsellor at the US Embassy, senior officials discussed increasing US investment in Bangladesh's energy sector.

The two sides also talked about signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen government-to-government cooperation.

Bangladesh has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening energy ties with the United States, and discussions will continue to move the cooperation process forward.
