US Stock Futures Slide as Oil Prices Climb
U.S. stock futures were set to open lower as oil prices climbed and precious metals fell, setting a bearish tone across major markets.
The Dow futures pointed to a decline of 0.31%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 0.12% and 0.27%, respectively.
Oil, however, defied the trend with West Texas Intermediate crude futures rising 0.16% to $90.669 per barrel, and Brent crude futures increasing 0.94% to $96.305.
The precious metals market was not as fortunate, with spot gold falling 1.06% to $4,312 an ounce, and spot silver plummeting 3.03% to $65.
