US Stocks Mixed Amid Iran Tensions, Tariffs, and Inflation Concerns
Stocks on Wall Street posted mixed results on Friday, with the S&P 500 barely budging in uneventful trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 235.60 points to 51,947.25, while the Nasdaq fell 161.87 points to 24,975.82.
The sharp escalation of the U.S.-Iran conflict and fresh tariffs from the Trump administration have put pressure on investors. Rising energy prices and inflation concerns have also weighed on the market.
Brent crude oil prices fell 3.9% to $96.78 for the first time in a week, after rising above $100 earlier in the week. The yield on the 10-year Treasury also eased, falling to 4.68% from 4.71% late Thursday.
