US Stocks Soar as Oil Prices Fall and Bond Market Pressure Eases
The US stock market experienced its best day in six weeks on Thursday, following a decline in oil prices and easing pressure from the bond market.
Oil prices for Brent crude fell by 1% to settle at $104.82 per barrel, down from nearly $110 reached earlier in the week due to concerns over the war with Iran.
The lower oil prices contributed to a decrease in yields in the bond market, specifically the 10-year Treasury yield falling to 4.93% from 5.01% on Wednesday.
This development was significant as higher yields make borrowing more expensive for individuals and businesses, potentially slowing down the economy.
