US Stocks Stumble as Crude Oil Prices Make a Comeback
The US stock market has stalled near its all-time high after oil prices rebounded from their decline.
The S&P 500 index slipped by 0.1% in early trading on Wednesday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 55 points and the Nasdaq composite dropped by 0.3%.
The rise in oil prices, particularly for Brent crude, which increased by 1.4%, had a ripple effect on the bond market, pushing yields higher and making borrowing more expensive.
