US Strikes Back at Iran, Destroys Five Tankers Near Kharg Island

US forces have reportedly targeted Iranian tankers near Kharg Island in response to two attempts by Iran to hit a US Navy warship with ballistic missiles. According to Central Command, no American ship was hit and there were no injuries.

The US military said it destroyed five Iranian tankers carrying crude oil on Tuesday as part of this countermeasure. The targeted tankers were reportedly patrolling regional waters in the area.

Central Command confirmed that the US Navy warship was not damaged in either of the two incidents, and operations have continued uninterrupted.
