US Strikes Back: Three Iranian Oil Tankers Disabled in Retaliation
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that American forces have disabled three Iranian oil tankers in response to recent missile attacks on two US Navy warships. The incident marks a further escalation of regional hostilities, which began with US-Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28.
CENTCOM stated that the aircraft carrier and guided-missile destroyer successfully evaded multiple Iranian attacks, with no US personnel injured. As part of their response, US forces permanently disabled the M/T Downy off Iran's Kharg Island and the M/T Stark 1 near Jask.
The CENTCOM commander, Adm. Brad Cooper, warned that if the IRGC shoots at American ships, they will impose an even higher economic cost by targeting Iranian oil tankers. He emphasized that 'We will not hesitate to defend American forces, and if necessary, destroy Iran's limited and exposed oil fleet.'
