US Strikes Iranian Oil Tankers in Retaliation for Navy Warship Attacks
The United States military has taken swift action against Iranian oil tankers in response to missile attacks on U.S. Navy warships.
According to a statement from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), three Iranian crude oil carriers were struck and disabled after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched ballistic missiles at two U.S. Navy ships in regional waters.
The CENTCOM commander, Adm. Brad Cooper, stated that the message to the IRGC is clear: 'If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost, taking out three of yours.'
